Frans Alkemade, a photographer since the age of 15, has created a diverse portfolio of work in black and white and color with an emphasis on portraiture, landscape and architectural photography.

Frans continues to travel and capture images from various areas of the world. Most recently he traveled through India, Thailand, Burma, Laos and Cambodia.

A native of The Netherlands, Frans immigrated to the United States in 1964. He worked in a graduate research laboratory at Stanford University until he retired and moved to the Pacific Northwest.

Now a resident of Southern California, Frans is an active contributor to several photography clubs. He is frequently invited to judge photographic competitions.

Frans has won numerous national and international photographic awards. He won 3 Gold Medals in the PSA International Photo Salons and the prestigious Kodak Kinsley Award.

His work has been published in magazines, calendars and books and adorns the walls of many homes, corporate offices, and hospitals.
